For those of us on a low sodium regimen, the Christmas holidays can be especially fraught with anxiety. Holiday parties hosted by co-workers, friends, and family usually feature an extensive buffet of ham, turkey, sausages Swedish meatballs, cheeses, and baked good bursting with salt. The aroma emanating from these items has caused many an individual to throw caution to the wind, only to end up sick or in their doctor’s office.
Since my parent’s passed away, I stopped cooking for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Instead, I enjoy dining with family and friends in wonderful restaurants in Atlanta, or wherever we decide to spend holiday. However, before I book a table, I review the restaurant’s menu to determine if any of the items meet my dietary requirements. Occasionally, I am forced to call the restaurant to chat with the manager.
This past Christmas dinner was easy and thoroughly enjoyable thanks to Legal Seafood. The restaurant offers a delicious Grilled Seafood Platter (pictured above) that included shrimp, scallops, and fish without salt or seasonings. I paired the meal with steamed broccoli with unsalted bitter and balsamic vinegar, and cole slaw. Absolutely delicious. Many of Atlanta’s finer seafood restaurants can be notoriously expensive; however, this meal was a reasonable $28.95.
Legal Seafood is located in the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Atlanta, 275 Baker Street, NW. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the hotel, and boast floor to ceiling windows that offer spectacular views of Atlanta Centennial Olympic Park.
